The Role

Are you a creative and passionate social media professional looking to make a difference in the community? Waverley Council is seeking a dynamic Social Media Officer to lead and develop digital communications that champion the Council’s objectives and engage with our vibrant local community.

You will take charge of crafting compelling content, including video, across all of our social media platforms (including the Bondi Pavilion), aimed at enhancing the Council’s presence and effectively communicating key messages. A strategic mindset will be essential, as you devise comprehensive plans to engage target audiences, nurture partnerships with influencers, and manage online communities.

A strong background in executing successful paid social media campaigns, particularly using Meta Ads Manager, is a must, as you will be managing both boosting efforts and broader ad campaigns. Additionally, you’ll handle community moderation, ensuring that conversations within the Council’s social spaces remain respectful and aligned with platform guidelines, especially when addressing sensitive topics.

Collaborating with both internal teams and external content creators, you will develop engaging, brand-aligned content that supports Waverley Council’s strategic goals. Proficiency in both videography and graphic design will be key in producing visually captivating assets. You’ll also contribute to the Council’s multimedia offerings by filming, editing, and producing video content that connects with diverse audiences.

If you are passionate about social media, community engagement, and visual storytelling, we would love to hear from you. Join Waverley Council and help us strengthen our connection with the community!
