About the Department

Waverley Library, located in the vibrant heart of Bondi Junction, serves as a central hub for community engagement and learning in Waverley, NSW. This modern library offers a diverse collection of books, eBooks, magazines and multimedia resources, catering to all age groups and interests. With facilities including a family digitisation station and 3D printing, study areas, meeting rooms and a dedicated children's section, it provides a welcoming environment for all. The library also hosts various events, workshops and programs aimed at fostering a love for reading, creativity, and lifelong learning. Waverley Library is committed to preserving local history and promoting cultural enrichment within the community.

 

The Role

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Waverley Library team.

The Coordinator, Library Resources is a key management position with responsibility for the Collections, Technology and Local History teams. The role ensures high levels of customer satisfaction through engagement with collections and technology services and by providing access to and preservation of the history of the Waverley area.

The Coordinator will work closely with the Library Manager and Coordinator, Library Experience to implement exciting technology and collection initiatives and to drive operational improvements as part of the Waverley Library Operational Plan.

Enthusiasm for technology and innovation, experience in managing administrative processes, implementing policies, motivating a team, commitment to customer service excellence and a positive, can-do attitude are key to success in this role.

 

About You

  • University level qualification in Library and Information Studies, Technology or other relevant area of study/experience.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in collection management, budget management, project management and staff supervision, with proven capacity to lead and develop staff.
  • Current Working with Children Check.
